I invite you all to register your daughter and/or your son for the Calvert Hall Strength and Conditioning Camp this summer.
My name is Phil Tran. I am a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with Distinction with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. For the uninitiated, my certification is the most rigorous certification to attain in the sports and fitness industry. You need my certification to coach in the weight room in the NFL and the NCAA, but I choose to work with young male and female athletes to get them on the right path from day one. I also happen to be the Maryland State Director for the NSCA.
I have had championship-level success designing and implementing safe, structured, and effective strength training programs for girls and boys from all sports.
As a strength coach, I have seen far too many incoming freshmen who are behind the curve in athletics due to improper training or no training in years prior high school. Just like how we teach children to read early, we need to teach our children proper movement patterns early so they can establish healthy habits, improve their posture, enhance their performance, build their confidence, and prevent injuries.
I am here to help. I am offering two four-day sessions with two hours of age-appropriate instruction each day at our co-ed summer strength and conditioning camp. Session one goes from Monday, June 17th through Thursday, June 20th from noon to 2:00pm. Importantly, on Thursday night, June 20th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, there will be a parent meeting where you will see presentations from top medical professionals on sport safety and injury prevention.
Session two goes from Monday, July 22nd through Thursday, July 25th from noon to 2:00pm. The parent meeting will take place on Thursday, July 25th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Parents have a direct stake in the athletic well being of their children so I want them to hear presentations from and interact with the best medical professionals in the sports and fitness industry.
